Dear Siyá:ye (Friend):

Sts’ailes, together with the Village of Harrison Hot Springs, the Harrison Festival Society and Tourism Harrison, are pleased to announce Sasquatch Days 2013 – June 8 & 9, Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia.

The Village of Harrison Hot Springs and Sts’ailes partnered to deliver Sasquatch Days to create an annual event to promote Sts’ailes Culture, particularly around the iconic Sa:sq’ets (Sasquatch). Chosen story tellers, cultural keepers, medicine people, ceremony leaders, cultural councils are all involved in preserving and protecting Sts’ailes cultural identity and are respected and often sought cultural resources represented Sts’ailes at Sasquatch Days.

Last year this event attracted competitors and visitors from the Fraser Valley, Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Washington State, as well as other international visitors from around the world. Many Nations were represented among the displays of arts and crafts, with several artisans demonstrating cedar bark and root weaving and the make a mini drum or cedar rose experiences, moccasin makers, beadwork, jewellery, carvings, original paintings, art cards and prints, clothing design, and a variety of drum makers and cultural groups provided a feast for the senses.

Join us this year in providing another exceptional opportunity to create understanding and friendships, and to build on a great event that Sts’ailes welcome all peoples to participate in and enjoy.

Yalh yexw kw’es hoy (Thank you)

Chief Harvey Paul Sts’ailes
